Christmas in July

Now that I've received my swap cards, I can show off the ones I did. My husband told me to go ahead and start making Christmas cards so I wasn't so stressed the week before Christmas :) This card not complicated. It has no matting, but still looks lovely. It also lends itself to many stamp sets and color possibilities. I love this color combo! It's a little non-traditional, but still appropriate for Christmas. The snowflake image is highlighted with Dazzling Diamonds glitter, which shows up slightly blueish in the photo.

Word Window Wow

I love how this simple card packs such a punch! OK, bad pun, but seriously, this card is so simple but super fun. I love the bright colors. Simply use the Word Window punch to punch out multiple colors of cardstock, then line them up as a stripe across your card. The original card was presented by Tammy Fite at the Stampin' Up! regional seminar in Albuquerque, NM. You can see it HERE. I changed it a little by adding some new In Colors as well as using a colored base. Having that extra layer makes adding the ribbon easier.

Stamping away

I've been busy stamping the past couple of days. The problem is that I can't yet show off my creations! I'm participating in 3 swaps for demonstrators who aren't attending the annual Stampin' Up convention this year. I'm crazy about techniques, so I'm doing 2 different technique cards, plus a general swap. My general card is completed - it's a Christmas card. The techniques I'm doing are heat embossing and marker thumping. My embossed card is nearly done - I really like it! I ran out of Artichoke cardstock, so I'm waiting for more. My last card is still in the designing phase. I can't wait to show them off in a couple of weeks.

Eyelet Medallion

Each month Stampin' Up! Demonstrators receive a magazine called Stampin' Success. In this month's issue there was a card that featured this really pretty medallion made with the eyelet punch. I knew I had to give it a try. I used the same layout and colors, but changed the images. This card also features a brand new item - In Color Markers! For the first time ever, Stampin' Up! is offering this year's In Colors in marker form. It's a great way to have the ink colors without the investment of stamp pads, as well as utlizing marker techniques with the In Colors.
