KY Kids Consignment Sale

Bittersweet Love

My challenge for the Love VSN over on splitcoast is inspired by the chocolate making process. It starts with the bitter cacao bean and gets processed into the lovely, luscious chocolate we all know and love. So take your unloved stamp sets, you know the one you thought "Why in the world did I buy this?", or the image you love but have never been able to make work on a card, and make a lovely luscious card with it. Here is my sample card:

 

I bought this stamp set because it was on sale! And because I knew that i would use it since I have small children. I have used it for acouple of teacher gifts, but it hasn't lended itself to cards very well. I think I like the end result. I had to make my own spiral since i don't own that punch. I also cased a layout from the SU catty.

Virtual Stamp Night

Polished Stone

This card features the Polished Stone technique. I added a twist by clear embossing the Fresh Cuts image before applying the ink colors to the glossy cardstock. To achieve the Polished Stone look, apply 2-3 colors of reinker drops onto an alcohol soaked cotton ball. Then pounce the cotton ball onto glossy cardstock until you get full coverage. Using a metallic reinker will add to a more lifelike stone coloring, but it more difficult to work with as it doesn't dry easily. Be careful not to overlap your pouncing too much or the colors will end up being muddy. I then pounced the inked cotton ball on the vine image stamp to get the mottled color. I'm sending this card to my 2nd level upline Kristin who has a lot going on in her life right now.

Stampin’ Up! welcomes artists who would like to use our stamp images in their own hand-stamped craftwork that they produce to sell. Therefore, we give permission in  the form of a limited license to use any Stampin’ Up! stamp images for the purpose of creating craftworks for sale, under the following criteria:

1. Each craftwork created for sale must be personally and individually hand-stamped by the selling artist and may not be reproduced or copied in any form by any means, graphic, electronic, or mechanical, including photocopying. Mass production, assembly-line construction, production by workers for hire, or syndication of hand-stamped craftwork for sale is strictly prohibited.

2. All of Stampin’ Up!’s images are copyrighted, which means that they may not be copied without permission. To help protect the rights granted by these copyrights, all craftwork created for sale using Stampin’ Up! images must be marked with one of the images from the official Stampin’ Up! Limited License stamp sets shown in the catalog.

3. There are no quantity limits for for-sale, hand-stamped craftworks that abide by the restrictions as stated in this policy.

4. Completed, hand-stamped projects may be sold at competitive and non-competitive permanent retail locations, as well as temporary craft events, community fundraisers, and over the Internet. In selling hand-stamped projects, the seller must make it clear that the items are hand-made, and not a product of the company. The seller may indicate that the supplies used are from Stampin’ Up!, but the Stampin’ Up! logo may not be used in any way for the sole purpose of promoting the sale of hand-stamped projects.

5. You may not use Stampin’ Up! images for the purpose of creating logos or company trademarks.

6. Persons creating hand-stamped items for sale are responsible for complying with any state and local business and tax regulations.

7. Persons participating in this angel policy assume all liability for suitability of their work and agree to indemnify Stampin’ Up! and its artists from disputes arising from their work.

8. Stampin’ Up! is a Utah corporation. The laws of the State of Utah govern the policy. The state and federal courts for Salt Lake County, Utah, will have exclusive jurisdiction over any proceeding arising from this policy. Any failure by Stampin’ Up! to enforce any of its rights will not constitute a waiver of such rights.

Today and tomorrow I'll be posting cards I CASED (copy and share everything) from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Since Stampin' Up! publications always include project photos, they are the perfect inspiration for your own creations. You can copy them exactly, or use the same layout or color scheme. For my samples, I used the basic layouts from the Sale-A-Bration samples but used stamp sets from the regular catalog and altered the colors a bit.
